Why you should vote ✘ Welsh Trade Unionist and Socialist on May 7:
Welsh Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition
In Swansea recently, it was Socialist Party members standing for TUSC who spoke in the council chamber opposing Labour's cuts & council tax rises – while others merely abstained.
We also supported the large local community protest against the council's planned £8 million of financial support for Skyline – an environmentally destructive vanity project set to be built on the Kilvey Hill nature reserve.
The Socialist Party is standing in this election as part of the Welsh Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC).
We're the ones leading in uniting our workplaces and communities in campaigns for the rights and resources we need – to cut across racism, blame, and division.
We refuse to accept that working-class people, our NHS and public services, have to foot the bill for the problems of the super-rich.
We campaign for the trade unions – as member- led, democratic organisations representing workers and communities – to cut ties with Labour and build a new party of the working class.
No other option on the ballot paper supports the democratically-decided policies of 400,000 trade union members in Wales, such as the demand for no-cuts budgets.
Who inflicted a major, though partial and temporary, defeat on the UK Labour government’s plans to cut disability benefits last year?
It certainly wasn't the Welsh Labour MPs who voted for the cuts, or the First Minister who said "that's up to them."
And it wasn't Reform UK or the Tories – who both believe disability cuts don't go far enough.
It was disabled people, trade unionists, and socialists – people like Welsh TUSC candidates.
They were the real opposition to Labour in Westminster & Cardiff.
Elect those fighters to the Senedd on May 7 – vote ✘ Welsh Trade Unionist and Socialist.
Ben Golightly is one of the elected coordinators of Disabled People Against Cuts Cymru, a high profile campaign fighting disability cuts, and a member of the union Prospect.
Mark Evans is a long-standing Unison trade unionist and Secretary of Swansea & District Trades Council. He has been a consistent campaigner against local government job cuts, council tax increases, and cuts to services.
